The church celebrated its bicentennial in 2017, marking 200 years since its founding on January 7, 1817, at the home of Mrs. Elizabeth Minor. Established by Reverend John Knox Witherspoon with 13 founding members, construction of the sanctuary began in 1819 and was dedicated on January 6, 1822.
