Looking Up Series

September 26, 2025

In 2022, I started this series of oil paintings called Looking Up. Normally when I paint buildings I do them from afar so all the vertical lines are straight. For this series I decided to paint them as if I was standing closer, looking up at the tops of the buildings. This makes the vertical lines wider at the bottom and narrower at the top, meeting somewhere at the vanishing point in the sky. It’s been a lot of fun to do. These are a few of the ones I’ve done so far.
