Discover the charm of Crook’s Corner with this delightful giclée print, featuring Janet Francoeur’s original watercolor. Measuring 8 x 11 inches, this print beautifully captures the essence of this iconic Chapel Hill eatery, located at the corner of Franklin Street just before the West End transitions into Carrboro.
Recognizable by the life-size Pink Pig sculpture and the creative installation of found hubcaps, Crook’s Corner invites you to enjoy seasonally inspired Southern cuisine in a cozy, casual dining room adorned with rotating local art. Each month, the walls showcase new artwork, enhancing the vibrant atmosphere of this beloved restaurant.
The history of Crook’s Corner is as rich as its menu. In 1951, the site was marked by tragedy when Rachel Crook was murdered, a case that remains unsolved. Over the years, the building has served various purposes, including a taxi stand and bait & tackle shop, before being transformed in 1978 by Cam Hill into the barbecue house we know today, honoring Rachel’s memory.
