This 7″x9″ giclée print is taken from Janet Francoeur’s original oil painting of the historic Baxter’s building in downtown New Bern, NC. Rich in local history, the structure was built around 1915 and purchased by Baxter’s Jewelers in 1917 — a business originally founded in 1892. The cast-iron street clock, made by the Seth Thomas Clock Company and installed in the 1920s, is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
After Baxter’s Jewelers closed, the space became an art gallery and today is home to a vibrant, upscale cocktail bar — an iconic New Bern landmark through the decades.
